The incident happened in 2015, Pinellas deputies said.

PINELLAS COUNTY – An 84-year-old Jupiter man was charged with inappropriately touching a 13 year old, according to the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office.

William Flanders, 84, of Jupiter, is charged with one count of lewd and lascivious molestation. He was arrested at his home in Jupiter and taken to the Palm Beach County Jail.

The identity of the girl, who is now 15, is being withheld.

Deputies said they began investigating March 1 after the victim told an adult about the incident, which happened in August 2015. Deputies said they were able to confirm that, on multiple occasions in August 2015, that Flanders touched the girl in a sexually inappropriate manner. It was further determined that it happened while Flanders was vacationing with the victim in Pinellas County.
