The storm in the Atlantic has hit the 75-mph wind threshold.

The National Hurricane Center’s 11 a.m. report has upgraded Tropical Storm Danny to hurricane status. The cyclone’s  estimated wind strength is 75 mph after it crossed an area in the ocean particularly suited to intensification. The NHC says Hurricane Danny is no threat to Florida at present and is expected to fluctuate in strength and even weaken during the next few days.
