Hillsborough’s Lettuce Lake Park Scheduled to Reopen Friday

The park is closed this week (May 16-20) for road repaving and striping.

HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY – Lettuce Lake Park was closed Monday (May 16) so the main road could be repaved and striped. The park is expected to reopen Friday (May 20).

The closure is part of a larger paving project, costing about $297,000. The park remained open during much of the larger project, with only isolated closures of the sections of the walking trail that were actively under construction.

Lettuce Lake, 6920 E Fletcher Ave., is a 240-acre site with multiple activities that include wooded picnic areas and a playground. A bicycle path/jogging trail, complete with a fitness course, meander through the park. Lettuce Lake is also a haven for nature study. An interpretive center, featuring exhibits, leads to a 3,500 ft. boardwalk and an observation tower where visitors can view an extensive variety of wildlife. The parks also has canoes/kayaks available for rent.
