HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY – A motorcyclist died as a result of injuries he received in a vehicle collision on Christmas Day.

Louis Matthew Bruno, 43, of Valrico, died at St. Joseph’s Hospital. Carole Sue Rink, 82, of Brandon, who was driving the other vehicle and her passenger, Bria Ward, 15, of Tampa, were also taken to St. Joseph’s with minor injuries, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Rink was driving her 2009 Chevrolet Impala soutbound on U.S. 301 in the left turn lane to Summerfield Square Drive about 2:51 p.m. Friday (Dec. 25). Mr. Bruno was driving a 2012 Vico motorcycle northbound in the center lane. FHP troopers say Rink turned into the path of the motorcycle, which hit her car. Mr. Bruno was taken to the hospital where he later died of his injuries.

Troopers say charges are pending.
