Tampa Pedestrian Dies in Traffic Accident

The man stepped into the path of oncoming traffic, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY – A Tampa man died Saturday (May 7) night when he was hit after stepping into the path of a oncoming minivan, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

Greg V. Neighbors, 55, of Tampa, died at the scene, FHP troopers said. Troopers said Mr. Neighbors was crossing westbound Hillsborough Avenue at Pistol Range Road about 9:21 p.m. Mr. Neighbors stepped into the path of a 1998 Dodge Caravan driven by Robert L. Williams, 64, of Tampa. Alcohol does not appear to be a factor. No charges have been filed.
