Pedestrian Dies in Hillsborough Hit and Run

The Florida Highway Patrol is seeking information in the case. The agency has released a photo showing what the car might look like.

HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY – An Illinois man died early this morning (March 26) when he was hit by a vehicle that fled the scene.

Eric P. Flodin, 40, of Lake in the Hills, IL, died at the scene, according to Florida Highway Patrol troopers.

Troopers said Flodin was crossing Dale Mabry Highway near Medical Drive about 12:49 a.m. when he was hit. Witnesses said the vehicle was orange, possibly a Dodge Dart. The vehicle would have damage on the left front (headlight and turn signal) as well as to the driver’s side mirror. Troopers are asking anyone with information to contact them by calling (813) 631-4020.
