Moped Driver Dies from Crash Injuries

The woman, who was not wearing a helmet, hit her head on the pavement when she fell of the moped.

HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY – A woman has died from injuries she received when she was thrown from her moped, according to the Hillsborough County Sheriff.

Migdalia Correa, 63, of Riverview, died at Tampa General Hospital where she was taken by helicopter after the accident.

Hillsborough deputies said Ms. Correa was driving her yellow and black moped eastbound on Lumsden Road at approximately 35 mph about 10:30 a.m. Wednesday (May 11). She lost control of the vehicle in the center lane, was ejected and struck her head on the pavement. She was not wearing a helmet.
