Mini Storage Damaged by Fire in Hillsborough

HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY – A building at a Public Storage business was severely damaged by fire Monday (April 4), according to Hillsborough County Fire Rescue.

About 150 units in one building at the mini storage facility were damaged by fire, smoke or water. Structural damage was estimated at $800,000. Fire officials say there were no injuries and the cause is under investigation.

The Hillsborough department was notified of the fire when a resident of the nearby Town ‘n’ Country Apartments called to report smoke. When firefighters arrived at the Public Storage, 8421 Hillsborough Ave., they found smoke and flames coming from the 19,350-square-foot building E. Firefighters contained the fire to that building.
