Hillsborough Holds Back-to-School Health Fairs

Back to School | Hillsborough Schools | Health Fair

The fairs will have immunizations and other health information as well as physical examinations and free school supplies while they last.

HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY- The Hillsborough Back-to-School Coalition has scheduled six back-to-school health fairs to help parents get their kids ready for the upcoming school year.

The Back-2-School Fair is to encourage early immunization practices, promote healthy life choices, increase parental involvement, provide information about community services to assist students new to Hillsborough County and meet the needs of uninsured or under-insured families.

These events target students entering kindergarten through high school levels.  Students are provided with free school supplies such as backpacks, pens, paper, notebooks, and rulers in addition to health services such as immunization, vision screenings and school physicals—all requirements needed to attend schools in the Hillsborough County School District.

Project LINK is the administrative arms of The Back-to-School Coalition of Hillsborough County. The coalition members consist of local non-profit agencies and organizations, that have partnered to host back to school events at selected sites. Executives from each agency meet once a month beginning in January to build collaborative efforts in acquiring sponsorships, logistical planning and forecasting medical teams for each site.

During these events, families get an opportunity to meet with various school principals & teachers, community support agencies, sponsoring corporate representatives and partake in a host of activities that include entertainment, face painters, balloon makers and all around back to school fun.

The Back to School Coalition of Hillsborough County “BACK-2SCHOOL FAIRS” is hosted by a joint collaborative made up of Hillsborough County Public Schools, community agencies, hospitals, universities, medical professionals, and corporate partners.
