The Florida Highway Patrol’s safety campaign – Ticketing Aggressive Cars and Trucks – is designed to educate drivers on the dangers of aggressive driving around commercial trucks.

TAMPA BAY – Florida Highway Patrol troopers are on the lookout for dangerous driving.

The FHP on Friday (March 11) kicked off another phase of Ticketing Aggressive Cars and Trucks (TACT), a safety campaign aimed at educating motorists about the dangers of aggressive driving around large trucks and to reduce commercial motor vehicle related crashes.

“The Florida Highway Patrol is committed to keeping our roadways safe for all motorists,” said Colonel Gene Spaulding,  FHP director. “In order to keep you and your family safe when driving, motorists should exercise extra caution when sharing the road with larger vehicles.”

The TACT campaign runs through March 24. Troopers will be looking for car and truck drivers who display aggressive driving behavior such as following too closely, speeding and unsafe lane changes.
