The deputy rear-ended the other vehicle, Pinellas deputies said.

LEALMAN – A Tampa woman was injured Tuesday (Feb. 19) when an off-duty Pinellas deputy rear-ended her in a crash on 54th Avenue, the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office said.

Christine Kyuyon Yo, 28, of Tampa, was taken to the hospital for non-life-threatening injuries. The other driver, Pinellas sheriff’s Deputy Kristie Campion, 28, was not injured.

The crash happened about 6:33 p.m. on 54th Avenue N west of the 34th Street N intersection in the unincorporated Lealman area of Pinellas County.

Deputies said Campion, who was off duty, was driving in her 2013 Chevrolet Tahoe cruiser west on 54th Avenue N when she failed to stop for Yo’s 2015 Mercedes C300 that was slowing down ahead of her.

Investigators said impairment does not appear to be a factor in the crash.
