Driver, 92, Dies After Pasco Crash

The dead man rear-ended an SUV, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

PASCO COUNTY – The driver of a car that rear-ended an SUV died of his injuries, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Nicholas Mandusic, 92, of Tampa and New Suffolk, NY, died at Bayonet Point Medical Center on Wednesday (March 30) afternoon, FHP troopers said.

Mr. Mandusic was driving a 2007 Hyundai Sonata east on SR 52 approaching the Hicks Road intersection about 3:58 p.m. Wednesday. Troopers said he collided with a 1995 Jeep SUV driven by Pedro Martinez Valdes, 56, of Lakeland, who was stopped in the lane. Valdes was not hurt. Troopers said Mr. Mandusic was taken to Bayonet Point where he died.
