Clearwater Beach is the only U.S. beach to make the Tripadvisor list.

TAMPA BAY – Web-based travel site Tripadvisor has named Clearwater Beach to its list of top 25 beaches in the world.

The designation ranks Clearwater Beach as No. 20 on Tripadvisor’s 2016 Travelers’ Choice Award for beaches worldwide. It’s the only U.S. beach on the list.

“The sugar fine white sand is a trademark of this fabulous beach. Perfect for a day in the sun. You might even spot a dolphin or two playing on the horizon,” Tripadvisor said.

This is not the first time Tripadvisor has singled out Clearwater Beach for praise. The beach is ranked No. 1 on the site’s list of the Top 25 beaches in the U.S. Also on the U.S. list are St. Pete Beach (No. 4), Pensacola Beach (No. 7), St. Augustine Beach (No. 9), Panama City Beach (No. 10), Henderson Beach State Park in Destin (No. 11), Ft. Myers Beach (No. 18), Las Olas Beach in Ft. Lauderdale (No. 20), and Navarre Beach in Navarre (No. 23).
