Trap Shoot | Clay Pigeon | Trap Shooting

Shooters aim at a disc that mimics the path of a bird in flight.

HERNANDO COUNTY – The Hernando Cattlemen’s Association invites you to the amazing sport of trap shooting.

Trap shooting is a game of movement, action and split-second timing. It requires the accuracy and skill to repeatedly aim, fire and break the 4-1/4 inch disc which is hurled through the air at a speed of 42 mph, simulating the flight path of a bird fleeing a hunter.

Come out to test your skills, or just to watch. Participant-shooters will need to bring two boxes of shells. Raffle tickets, food and beverages will be available for purchase. The entry fee is $25 per person. Registration opens at 7:30 a.m. Saturday (Aug. 20), the day of the event. It will be at the Hernando Sportsman’s Club, 16121 Commercial Way, Brooksville.
