New Bait House Opens at Belleair Causeway

Belleair Causeway | Fishing | Bait

Looking for that perfect gift? How about some bait from Pinellas County’s new bait house?

BELLEAIR BLUFFS – A new bait house built by Pinellas County will open at 6 a.m. Friday (Nov. 27.) at the Belleair Causeway Boat Ramp, 3900 West Bay Drive, Belleair Bluffs. To celebrate the opening, the bait house concessionaire, Angler 360 Bait, Tackle and Apparel Co., will give away two dozen live bait shrimp per person on Friday while supplies last.

The new county facility replaces the old Belleair Bait House that was torn down several years ago during the construction of the Belleair Causeway Bridge and the replacement of the adjacent boat ramp. Penny for Pinellas funds paid for the new bait house, which cost about $780,000. Angler 360 was awarded a contract to run concessions at the bait house through a competitive bid process.

In addition to fishing supplies, the bait house will offer a variety of food and drink options. The bait house will operate daily from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. during the winter. There is a $6 daily parking fee for vehicles with trailers and a $2 fee for passenger vehicles at the Belleair Causeway Boat Ramp.

For information about the bait house, call (727) 687-7151, or go to angler360.com. For information on buying an annual parking pass for all county boat ramps, go to pinellascounty.org.
