The Hillsborough sheriff’s department is hosting a Halloween pumpkin painting event today. Free pumpkins will be provided to children to paint, in addition to free Blue Bell ice cream, free popcorn and free Halloween candy while supplies last.

YBOR CITY – Pumpkin spice lattes, apple picking and all things plaid are not the only way to get into the fall spirit!

From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. today (Oct. 27), the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office will host “Sheriff Chronister’s Great Pumpkin Patch” at the Sheriff’s Operations Center, 2008 E Eighth Ave. in Ybor City. It’s a free event for the whole family.

Free pumpkins will be provided to children to paint, in addition to free Blue Bell ice cream, free popcorn and free Halloween candy while supplies last. Children can even receive a free face painting.

“I encourage the whole community to come out and have some fun with our deputies,” Sheriff Chad Chronister said. “This is a safe place you can bring  our children to celebrate Halloween ahead of the holiday, and as a parent, you can feel confident in knowing your child’s candy is coming from a safe source.”

The department is encouraging families to stop by to enjoy a day of fun with Hillsborough County sheriff’s deputies.
