Largo Firefighters: Keep the Wreath Green

Largo Fire | Safety Campaign | Green Wreath

The Largo fire department has kicked off its annual holiday safety campaign.

LARGO – Largo Fire Rescue has launched its annual “Keep the Wreath Green” safety campaign in efforts to remind residents to practice fire-safe habits this holiday season.

According to the U.S. Fire Administration, nearly 47,000 fires occur during the winter holidays. The department hopes to reduce the risk of holiday fire incidents by spreading this awareness throughout Largo.

Wreaths with green bulbs – and a white bulb at the top to represent fallen firefighters – are displayed throughout the city, along with fire safety educationFor every structure fire incident in Largo’s district that is related to the holidays (cooking, holiday lights, candles, heaters, etc.) a green bulb will be replaced with a red bulb. If a bulb is changed, the department will notify the community.

The wreaths will remain displayed until Jan. 1Please join Largo in keeping the wreath green!
