St. Pete Ranks Fourth for Number of ‘Bike-Friendly’ Businesses

The League of American Bicyclists has certified 32 St. Pete businesses as “bike friendly.”

ST. PETERSBURG – The League of American Bicyclists, the national bicycling and advocacy organization, has recognized 11 more St. Pete  businesses with the Bike-Friendly Business certification.

This totals 32 certified bike-friendly businesses in St. Pete, ranking the city No. 4 in the nation.

The newly certified businesses are:

Coast Bike Share – St. Petersburg – (Gold)
St. Petersburg City Hall – (Silver)
St. Petersburg Municipal Services Center – (Silver)
St. Petersburg, The Greenhouse – (Silver)
Preserve the Burg – (Silver)
The Bikery – (Silver)
Cycle Brewing, Inc. – (Bronze)
Pesky Pelican Brew Pub – (Bronze)
TapHouse 61 – (Bronze)
The Hangar Restaurant & Flight Lounge – (Bronze)
The Wheelhouse – (Bronze)

“Today’s announcement is another win for St. Pete, demonstrating that biking is good for workers, good for business, and good for sustainability,” Mayor Rick Kriseman said. “I encourage other St. Pete businesses to consider adopting Bicycle Friendly policies so they, too, can contribute to our growth as a healthy place to live, shop, work and play.”
