A public meeting is set to unveil the conceptual design of a building that will replace the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Recreation Center.

PLANT CITY – Officials are seeking public input on the design of a new community center that’s being built to replace the aging Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Recreation Center.

The center, 1601 E Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd., sustained significant damage during Hurricane Irma.

A Community Center Advisory Group, consisting of citizens chosen by Plant City commissioners, has provided input on the initial design of the facility.

The Lunz Group architectural firm has taken the advisory group’s feedback and will present a conceptual plan at a public input session.

The public presentation and input session is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. Tuesday (June 5) in the Sadye Gibbs Martin Auditorium at City Hall, 302 W Reynolds St. The meeting is open to all interested citizens and no registration is required to attend.
