The city charter is similar to a constitution that determines the framework for Pinellas Park government.

PINELLAS PARK – The city of Pinellas Park is looking for residents to volunteer for its charter review committee.

The City Charter Review Committee is being established and will consist of seven voting members. Five members will be chosen by City Council members and the remaining two members shall be selected by vote of the City Council based upon applications received by the City Clerk’s Office.

All members must be city residents. The function of this committee will be to review, study, and make proposals to the City Council about making changes to the city Charter. Those changes could be made to bring the Charter in line with the present state Constitution and state laws, as well as review the Charter to make it reflective of the needs of the community.

After appointment, the committee shall meet no later than May 1 to organize and set their meeting schedule. All meetings are open to the public.

Applications for the Charter Review Committee may be obtained from the City Clerk’s Office, 5141 78th Ave. N, on the city’s website, or by calling and requesting an application at (727) 369-0616. Applications are to be returned to the City Clerk’s Office no later than 5 p.m. Feb. 28.
