PINELLAS COUNTY – A new voice is leading Pinellas County’s Veterans Services.

Zeffery Mims was introduced at Tuesday’s (April 23) County Commission meeting as the new department director.

Mims, a veteran of the U.S. Coast Guard with 30 years of active duty service, will lead the county’s outreach to Pinellas County’s veteran population and facilitate their access to earned benefits. More than 85,000 veterans call Pinellas home.

“I feel honored to take my calling to a new level and continue to facilitate access to services for our local heroes,” said Mims, who has worked at Veterans Services since 2013.

Veteran Services operates under the Pinellas County Human Services department. All services are offered to veterans and eligible family members at no cost.
