The produce giveaway is planned for Friday (July 28) in Largo. It is open to all Pinellas Conty residents.

LARGO – The Pinellas County Commission will join community partners to host a free produce and food distribution event Friday (July 28) in Largo.

The Farm Share event will begin at 9:30 a.m. at Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church, 13255 118th St. N. The giveaway will take place in the church parking lot at the corner of Ulmerton Road and 117th Street. The event is scheduled to run until 11:30 a.m. or until all food items are gone.

The county’s involvement in the Farm Share program is part of a continuous effort to ensure public welfare by distributing healthy foods to citizens most in need. Anyone in need of assistance with grocery necessities is welcome to attend.

The commission is welcoming Farm Share to the Ridgecrest area of Largo in partnership with several community organizations, including Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church, the Friends Of Ridgecrest, the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office, WellCare, Lowe’s, Home Depot, Sam’s Club, and Panera Bread.

Farm Share is a nonprofit organization dedicated to the distribution of nutritious foods to those in need. It serves as a link between farmers with surplus produce and social service agencies in Florida and throughout the southeastern United States. Last year, Farm Share served more than 6 million Florida households and distributed 40 million pounds of food to needy families.
