ST. PETERSBURG – The Center for Biological Diversity and Friends of the Tampa Bay National Wildlife Refuges are holding their “Ales and Wild Tails,” a night of environmental education, conversation and good beer Wednesday.

“Ales and Wild Tails” happens the second Wednesday of every month. Wednesday’s (Jan. 9) meeting features Shawn Garner of the Florida Aquarium. Garner is a senior biologist at the Aquarium and an expert on seahorses, sea dragons and pipefish. He’ll talk about his work to conserve and breed some of these creatures, and he’ll provide an overview of seahorse behavior, reproduction and diversity.

This event will take place from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the plaza of the Ale and the Witch, 111 Second Ave. NE in St. Petersburg. Admission is free and the beer is affordable. The event is open to the public.
