Drought Closes Hernando Boat Ramps
The boat ramps at Hunters Lake and Mountain Lake will temporarily close beginning today (April 20).
HERNANDO COUNTY – Starting today (April 20), the public boat ramps at Mountain Lake and Hunters Lake will be temporarily closed to motorized boats due to low water levels that have resulted from the ongoing drought, according to the Hernando County Waterways Department. .
Access is still available for kayaks and canoes at Hunters Lake; however, Mountain Lake boat ramp is closed to all use.
Other public boat ramps are being evaluated and closures will be closed if necessary.
