The free event will feature a presentation about shark conservation and research programs at the Florida Aquarium.

ST. PETERSBURG – The Center for Biological Diversity and Friends of the Tampa Bay National Wildlife Refuges team up to bring you environmental education, conversation and beer at their monthly Ales and Wild Tails event.

This month’s event, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday (Jan. 11), features a presentation by Eric Hovland, associate curator at the Florida Aquarium. An expert on sharks, Hovland will talk about the innovative conservation and research programs he’s developing with sharks.

The event’s free, and the beer’s affordable and delicious, so bring your friends. And mark your calendar — Ales and Wild Tails happens the second Wednesday of every month at the Ale and the Witch, 111 2nd Ave. NE in St. Petersburg.
