Pinellas Schools Open Application Period to Request a Different School

School | Education | Learning

Pinellas parents who want their child to attend a school outside of their zone can apply starting today (April 3).

PINELLAS COUNTY – Families have an opportunity to apply for a school outside their zone for the 2017-18 school year.

The district’s Special Assignment Request period is open starting today (April 2) and will remain open until April 17. This online application process is for schools that are not magnet, fundamental or career programs. Families can apply for one school outside of their zone using the district’s Student Reservation System, reservation.pcsb.org. If parents do not have a User ID and password, they may visit any school in the district to get one.

All requests submitted during this initial Special Assignment Request period are considered equally, using a random selection process. Siblings of students already attending the non-zoned school will be given priority. Families making requests for more than one child for the same school during this period need to apply separately for each child, but will be able to indicate during the application process that their children are siblings.

Families will be informed whether their application was accepted. For more information, call Student Assignment at (727) 588-6210.
