Pasco-Hernando College Nursing Director Chosen to Serve on Editorial Boards

She will be a peer reviewer for one of the scientific journals.

DADE CITY – Daryle Wane, Ph.D., nursing program director for the bachelor of science in nursing degree at Pasco-Hernando State College, accepted an invitation to become a peer reviewer for the American Journal of Nursing, the nursing profession’s premier journal.

The AJN promotes excellence in nursing and health care through the dissemination of evidence-based, peer-reviewed clinical information and original research.

Wane was also appointed to the distinguished editorial review board of the Journal of Nursing Education and Practice, a peer-reviewed international scientific journal that promotes a high standard of clinically related scholarship supporting the practice and education of nursing and the international exchange of ideas and cultural experiences that impact the field.

Wane is a board certified family nurse practitioner who developed the college’s BSN program, launched in 2014, and spearheaded the recent accreditation effort that resulted in a five-year full accreditation from the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education. In addition to her Ph.D. in nursing science and a master’s in nursing from the University of South Florida, Wane holds a BSN from Downstate Medical Center, the State University of New York and a bachelor’s degree in food and nutrition from Brooklyn College.
