Hillsborough Schools Superintendent Schedules Town Hall Meetings
Each meeting will provide families, district employees and community members the opportunity to get their questions about the Hillsborough school referendum answered — straight from Superintendent Jeff Eakins.
HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY – Hillsborough County School Superintendent Jeff Eakins will host several town hall meetings throughout the county, beginning next week, to talk about the Nov. 6 education referendum and inform voters about school needs and the positive impact a half-penny sales tax referendum would have on students, schools and community.
During the town hall meetings, Eakins will also share information about the state of the Hillsborough school district, opportunities for students, and the $2 billion challenge the community faces because of inadequate state funding.
The meetings will be led by Superintendent Eakins and are scheduled for:
Tuesday (Sept. 18), 6 p.m. at South Tampa Fellowship Ballast Point Campus, 5101 Bayshore Blvd., Tampa
Wednesday (Sept.19), 7 p.m. at Schwarzkopf Elementary School, 18333 Calusa Trace Blvd., Lutz
Sept. 26, 7 p.m. at Grady Elementary School, 3910 W Morrison Ave., Tampa
Oct. 3, 7 p.m. at Westchase Recreation Center, 9791 Westchase Drive, Tampa
Oct. 4, 7 p.m. at Pizzo K-6 School, 11701 USF Bull Run Drive, Tampa
Oct. 15, 7 p.m. at Middleton High School, 4801 N 22nd St., Tampa
Oct. 23, 7 p.m. at the Chapel at FishHawk, 6026 Churchside Drive, Lithia
Each meeting will provide families, district employees and community members the opportunity to get their questions about the referendum answered — straight from Eakins. Anyone interested is encouraged to attend.
