East Lake Middle School Student’s Art Chosen for Tallahassee

Her artwork will be displayed in the state Capitol.

EAST LAKE -Artwork by East Lake Middle School Academy of Engineering student Emma Smith was chosen for the Pinellas County Schools Art in the Capitol Competition Award.

Her art is titled “The Girl That Draws in Class.”  The Art in the Capitol Competition is an annual statewide visual arts competition for public, private and home education students in grades 6-8.

Pinellas County Schools and the Dunedin Fine Arts Center recently held the Taking Shape Grades 6-8 art exhibition. The Art in the Capitol Award was selected by judges at this annual exhibition. Her artwork is on display at the Dunedin Fine Arts Center, 1143 Michigan Blvd., through Dec. 16.

Her award winning artwork will be sent to Tallahassee for display in the the Capitol Building from March 7-May 5.
