Woman Shot at Duke Energy Truck in I-275 Road Rage Incident, FHP Says

No one was injured in the incident, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY – A Plant City woman is facing multiple charges after she shot at a Duke Energy pickup truck during a road rage incident, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

Destiny Starr Harrison, 24, of Plant City is charged with shooting into an occupied vehicle, aggravated assault with a firearm, improper exhibition of a dangerous firearm, using a firearm while under the influence of an alcoholic beverage or chemical substance, possession of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana over 20 grams, alteration or removal of firearm serial number, driving under the influence, no valid drivers license and a warrant for violation of probation on a charge of improper exhibition of a dangerous firearm.

The driver of the Duke Energy pickup truck, Giovanni Garcia, 37, of Altamonte Springs, was not injured.

Troopers said the shooting happened about 8:24 p.m. on I-275 near milepost 41. Troopers said it was part of a road rage incident during which Harrison, who was driving a 1998 Lincoln Navigator, shot several rounds at Garcia.

When they arrived at the area, troopers said, they, with the help of Tampa police, were able to quickly find Harrison who had lost control of the Lincoln and had entered the center median near Dale Mabry Highway.

Troopers said they found three firearms, 23.1 grams of marijuana, drug paraphernalia and alcoholic beverage containers in the Lincoln.
