Woman Shot Boyfriend, St. Pete Police Say

ST. PETERSBURG – A woman was arrested and charged with shooting her live-in boyfriend, according to the St. Petersburg Police Department.

Jeremiah Mincy, Jr.,36, of St. Petersburg, suffered a gunshot wound to his chest. He was taken to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Jeannie Dorsey, 37, was charged with one count of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon.

Police were called to a 31st Street S address about 4 p.m. Monday (June 5) because someone had been shot. When they arrived, officers said they found Mincy, who told them his live-in girlfriend, Dorsey, had shot him. Police said they took her into custody but she was not cooperative. She was later arrested and charged.
