Woman Prostituted Teenage Girl, Pinellas Deputies Say

The teenager had run away from home and needed a place to stay, according to Pinellas sheriff’s deputies.

PINELLAS COUNTY – A woman has been accused of prostituting a 14-year-old girl, the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office said.

Katilia Brekeysha Seymour, 33, of 620 53rd Ave. S, St. Petersburg, has been charged with one count of human trafficking (child under 18, deputies said.

Deputies began their investigation Oct. 20 when the the 14-year-old girl told them she was having sexual encounters with men for money. The victim said she ran away from her home Oct. 2 and needed a place to stay when she was introduced to Katilia Seymour.

Seymour rented a motel room for the teen and, in return, the girl agreed to engage in prostitution. Deputies said Seymour took photographs of the victim wearing only panties and a tank top and posted the images on the backpage.com webpage for the purpose of promoting prostitution. Men who responded to the advertisements paid $180 each to have sexual relations with the victim. deputies said. Seymour would then collect more than half the money for herself.

Deputies said they were able to corroborate the victim’s allegations. On Friday (Oct. 28), deputies interviewed Seymour at the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office Administration Building, 10750 Ulmerton Road in Largo, where they arrested Seymour.

The girl was placed in the care of the Florida Department of Children and Families.
