OLDSMAR – A woman was accused of driving under the influence after she rear-ended a Pinellas deputy’s marked cruiser while he was investigating a crash.

Rebecca Adams, 45, of 1202 Seagate Drive, Apt. 205, in Palm Harbor, was charged with DUI, according to the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office. Deputies said tests indicated she had a blood alcohol content of 0.169/0.172. No one was injured in the crash.

The crash happened about 7:30 p.m. Wednesday (Dec. 7) n the northbound curb lane of Tampa Road, just north of the Curlew Road intersection.

Deputy Peter Lamborghini had parked his marked 2015 Chevrolet Tahoe with the emergency lights flashing on Tampa Road to shield three crashed vehicles from oncoming traffic. Deputies said Lamborghini was out of his cruiser investigating the crash when a 2013 Nissan Altima driven by Adams, crashed into the rear of his cruiser.

The impact from the Nissan pushed Lamborghini’s cruiser forward into a 1986 Porsche 944 and then into a 2012 Mazda 6. Both unoccupied cars were involved in the original crash.
