He later said he had no access to firearms and would never shoot up the school, Pasco deputies said.

WESLEY CHAPEL – A Wesley Chapel teen was arrested after he threatened to “shoot up” Wiregrass Ranch High School, according to the Pasco County Sheriff’s Office.

The 17 year old, a student at Wiregrass Ranch in Wesley Chapel, was charged with one count of False Report Use of Firearm State Property. Because the charge is a second degree felony, the teen is not eligible for the diversion program.

Deputies said the boy was heard by a teacher and an assistant principal to say he was going to “shoot it up,” referring to the school. The teen also said he “hated this school and everybody in it.”

He later said he had no access to a firearm and would never shoot up the school or harm anyone on campus.
