Police at the University of South Florida made four arrests over the Memorial Day weekend; three were drug related.

TAMPA – Weekend traffic stops at the University of South Florida turned more serious for four men, according to campus police.

Three of the four were accused of drug-related crimes. The fourth was accused of having a counterfeit license tag. None were affiliated with USF, police said.

The arrested and the charges:

Noel Delgado, 19, of Tampa, was charged with possession of cannabis over 20 grams, a felony. Campus police said he was released on $2,000 bond.

Anthony Gore, 25, Pembroke Pines, was charged with possession of cannabis under 20 grams, a misdemeanor, police said. He was released on $1,500 bond.

Alexander Woosley, 25, of Thonotosassa, was charged with possession of cannabis under 20 grams, a misdemeanor. Police said he was given a notice to appear in court.

Miguel Acosta, 25, of Tampa, was charged with possession of counterfeit license plates, a felony. He was released on $2,000 bond.

Campus police said the arrests were all made between Saturday (May 28) and Monday (May 3). Officers made multiple traffic stops because of various traffic violations. During several of the traffic stops, officers said they detected an odor of marijuana. A search of the vehicles confirmed the presence of marijuana.

USF police officers said they arrested Acosta during a USF Comprehensive Safety Check Point. When officers checked Acosta’s registration, they said they found that a counterfeit tag was affixed to his vehicle.
