USF Police Accuse Student of Armed Robbery
The student used a toy handgun to try to get free pizza, University of South Florida police say.
TAMPA – A University of South Florida student has been accused of trying to rob a pizza delivery driver, according to campus police.
Keion Cantrell, 20, of Maitland, was charged with armed robbery, USF police said. Cantrell is a USF residential student living in the USF Holly apartments.
Police said the incident happened about 4 a.m. Tuesday (Nov. 1) outside the Holly apartments. A pizza delivery driver told officers he had been approached by a man with what appeared to be a handgun inside his waistband. The man asked the delivery driver for free pizza. The driver fled and called police.
Police searched the area and found Cantrell, who had a you handgun. Officers arrested him after interviewing him.
