She told deputies she was under the influence of drugs at the time of the shooting, the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office said.

THONOTOSASSA – A Thonotosassa woman has been arrested in connection with the shooting death of her boyfriend, the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office said.

Rebekah Katherine Dean, 25, of Thonotosassa, was charged with manslaughter with a weapon in the death of Thimothy Passmore, 32, also of Thonotosassa.

Deputies said that they were called to a suicide attempt about 7:44 p.m. Monday (Aug. 20) at a home on U.S. 301 in Thonotosassa. Dean told deputies that boyfriend shot himself. Hillsborough County Fire Rescue responded and Mr. Passmore was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Based on forensics and inconsistencies with Dean’s statements during interviews and reenactments, detectives consulted with the State Attorney’s Office and charged Dean.

Deputies said she admitted to being under the influence of methamphetamine at the time of the shooting and that she and Mr. Passmore were involved in a domestic dispute.
