The snakes have been returned. The tortoises are still missing, according to the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office.

OLDSMAR – Two New Port Richey teens are accused of stealing exotic reptiles from an Oldsmar pet store, the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office said.

Nicole Odierno, 18, and Jeremy Lawson, 19, are charged with one count each of grand theft. The value of the two boa constrictors and albino tortoises is about $900.

The theft happened about 1:23 p.m. Wednesday (May 10) at the Herp Hobby Shop, 103 Douglas Ave. in Oldsmar. Deputies said Odierno and Lawson came into the shop. Deputies said Lawson distracted the business owner, 56-year-old Andrew Potts, while Odierno took two 12-inch baby Aztec boa constrictor snakes and two baby albino tortoises from the store.

Using store surveillance video, deputies were able to identify the two as Odierno and Lawson. Both turned themselves into deputies.

Deputies recovered the two Aztec boa constrictors and returned them to the Herp Hobby Shop. The two albino tortoises have not been recovered.
