Teen Touched, Threatened to Rape Fellow Student, Hillsborough Deputies Say

The incident happened at Strawberry Crest High School, according to the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office.

HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY – A 15-year-old boy has been accused of touching and threatening to rape a 16-year-old girl, the Hillsborough Sheriff’s Office said.

The boy, whose name was not released because of his age, was charged with one count each of assault with intent to commit a felony, which is a felony, and a misdemeanor charge of battery.

Deputies said it happened about noon Jan. 31 while the girl was was walking to the cafeteria at Strawberry Crest High School in Dover when she was approached by the boy. He grabbed the strap to her backpack and then caressed her back against her will. The boy said that he was going to rape her. He further made sexually derogatory remarks related to her human characteristics and female body parts.

The girl was fearful for her safety and felt that she was about to be hurt, deputies said. She positively identified the boy who was arrested Friday (Feb. 23).
