Teen Threatened School Shooting in Letter to Santa, Deputies Say

He left the letter in the Santa letter box in Macy’s, Pasco deputies said.

WESLEY CHAPEL – A 15-year-old Wesley Chapel teen was arrested in connection with a letter to Santa Claus that included a threat to shoot up Wiregrass Ranch High School, according to the Pasco County Sheriff’s Office.

The teen was charged with one count of Written Threats to Kill or Do Bodily Harm. Tampa Bay Reporter is not identifying the teen because of his age.

Deputies said the boy, a student at Wiregrass Ranch in Wesley Chapel, wrote a letter to Santa Claus that contained the words, “I have been planning this for im, I am shooting up Wiregrass Ranch High School.” He then put the letter in a box letters to Santa at Macy’s department store. The letter contained the name of another student that was scratched out, then written again. Deputies said that student was not involved.

The letter instead, bore the fingerprints of the 15 year old, deputies said.

The boy denied writing the letter and being in the store.
