TARPON SPRINGS – Officers are investigating a triple murder that was discovered Tuesday (Jan. 1) when police were asked to make a welfare check at a retirement community, the Tarpon Springs Police Department said.

Richard Louis Ivancic, 71; his wife, Laura Ann Ivancic, 59; and their son, Nicholas James Ivancic, 25, were found dead. The elder Ivancic’s daughter, Jamie Nicole Ivancic, 21, is missing under suspicious circumstances, officers said.

Jamie Nicole Ivancic is the wife of Shelby John Nealy, 25, who is suspected in the killings. Nealy, who also goes by the alias Shelby Svensen, is in custody in Lakewood, Ohio.

Police said they were called to 1954 Juanita Way in the Meadows Mobile Home Community about 12:22 p.m. Tuesday for a welfare check requested by the out-of-state son of one of the owners of the mobile home.

When they entered the mobile home, they found three dead adults and three dead dogs. The decedents were in a state of advanced decomposition. Police said that, based on evidence found inside the home, they are treating the deaths as homicides.
