Tarpon Springs Man Accused of Trying to Have Sex with Girl, 14
He sent her lewd photographs of himself, St. Petersburg police said.
ST. PETERSBURG – A Tarpon Springs man was arrested after he tried to lure a 14-year-old girl to meet him and have sex with him, the St. Petersburg Police Department said.
Jaciel Tellez-Arroyo, 34, of Tarpon Springs, was arrested at his home and charged with one count each of Use of a Computer to Seduce/Solicit/Entice a Child to Commit Sex Acts, Travel to Seduce, Solicit, Lure a Child to Commit Sex Acts, and Transmission of Materials Harmful to Minors to a Minor by Electronic Device or Equipment.
Detectives said that they found out about Tellez-Arroyo on Dec. 29 during an undercover operation. They said he tried to solicit sex with a person he believed to be a 14-year-old girl – actually an officer. He sent “her” lewd photos of himself online and offered to pay her cab fare so they could meet.
