Tampa Police Investigate Homicide

Police are looking for the shooter.

TAMPA – Police here said they are investigating a homicide after an argument in the middle of a Tampa street led to the shooting death of a 32-year-old man.

Julius R. Carter, 32, of Tampa, died in the backyard of a residence where he fled after the shooting.

The shooting happened about 1:25 p.m. today (July 3), the Tampa Police Department said. It happened in the 3400 block of N Phillips Street.

Mr. Carter and an unidentified man got into a dispute in the street, police said. As a result of the dispute, Mr. Carter suffered multiple gunshot wounds and fled to the backyard of a nearby N Phillips Street residence where he died of his injuries.

The other man fled and has not been caught. No arrests have been made at this time. The investigation continues.
