TAMPA – A homeless man has been arrested and charged in the October murder of a Sebring woman whose body was found behind a Tampa business, the Tampa Police Department said.

Gary Tyrone Danielle, 48), whose address is listed as “at large,” was charged with one count each of First Degree Murder, Tampering with Physical Evidence, and Grand Theft of a Motor Vehicle. The murder charge arises out of the strangulation of Laurie Marie Pietscher, 28, of Sebring.

On Oct. 19, Tampa police were called to the scene on N 15th Street where Ms. Pietscher’s body was found near a business. It was unclear where the murder took place. It was later determined that she had been strangled. Her vehicle was missing.

The investigation pointed toward Danielle as a possible suspect. Police said Danielle and Ms. Pietscher knew each other.

For the past several months, Tampa police sai they have been gathering evidence to bring charges against Danielle. Ultimately, he was indicted and a warrant was issued for his arrest. On Tuesday (March 19), he was found in Tampa and arrested.
