Tampa Police Arrest Man in Fatal Stabbing

He and the deceased man had an argument that escalated into a physical confrontation, Tampa police said.

TAMPA – A Tampa man has been accused in the stabbing death this morning (Dec. 4) of another Tampa man, the Tampa Police Department said.

David Omar Caraballo, 38, was charged with one count of second degree murder in connection with the death of Jonathan Thomas Harvey, 38.

Police said they were called to a report of an aggravated battery at N Franklin Street and Harrison Street about 12:49 this morning. When they arrived, both Mr. Harvey and Caraballo were still on scene. Mr. Harvey was was suffering from multiple stab wounds.

Officers administered first aid to Mr. Harvey who was taken to the hospital where he later died of his injuries.

Mr. Harvey and Caraballo knew each other before the confrontation. Police said they had an argument that escalated into a physical confrontation.
