Tampa Martial Arts Coach Accused of Sexual Battery of a Child

TAMPA – A martial arts coach has been arrested and accused of having sexual contact with a female child several times over an 18-month period, the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office said.

Nelson Ivan Del Valle-Nazario, 33, of 3018 W Braddock St. in Tampa, was charged with two counts of lewd or lascivious battery and one count of driving while his license was suspended, deputies said.

Deputies said that, between March 1, 2015 and Sept. 4, Ivan Del Valle-Nazario had sexual contact with a female victim on multiple occasions. The victim was between the ages of 12 and 13 at the time of the offenses.

Del Valle-Nazario was the victim’s mixed martial arts coach and the victim was in his custody at the gym at the time of several of the offenses, deputies said. Some happened at Del Valle-Nazario’s residence. During a recorded phone conversation, Del Valle-Nazario admitted to the offense.

Del Valle-Nazario is the owner of the Undisputed Fitness & Martial Arts gym, 1412 W Waters Ave. in Tampa. He was arrested Thursday (Nov. 10) at his business.
