Tampa Man Charged with Triple Murder

He had already been charged with other offenses related to the Nov. 15 arson and murders, Hillsborough deputies said.

HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY – The man accused of burning down a mobile home hours after a three people were killed has now been charged with murder, according to the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office.

Xavier Pierre Whitehead, 29, of Tampa, was charged with three counts of First Degree Murder with a Firearm and one count each of Armed Burglary of a Dwelling and Robbery with a Firearm. He had been arrested in December and charged with one count each of Armed Burglary of a Dwelling, Arson First Degree, and Tampering with Physical Evidence. (For related story, click here.)

Another suspect, Ricky Wilkerson Jr. , 23, of Tampa, remains in custody charged in connection with this triple homicide. (For related story, click here.)

About 3:05 p.m. Nov. 15, HCSO dispatch received a 9-1-1 call leading deputies to an address on 16th Avenue S in Tampa for a house fire.

Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office patrol deputies and Hillsborough County Fire Rescue responded and found a mobile home in the back of the property on fire. Firefighters entered the residence and located three people deceased inside.

All appeared to have sustained upper body trauma. They were later identified as Xavier Greene, Derek Archie, and Haley Stone.
