He was subdued with a Taser, Hillsborough deputies said.
HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY – A Tampa man was arrested after he broke into a house and charged with a knife at a deputy, the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office said.
Patrick O’Brien, 53, of Tampa, was charged with one count each of Aggravated Assault on a Law Enforcement Officer with a Deadly Weapon
and Burglary of Occupied Dwelling with Assault or Battery.
Deputies said that about 6:57 p.m. Monday (Dec. 10), O’Brien entered a home on Windflower Court. The residents told him to leave, at which time O’Brien pushed one to the ground and fled into the backyard.
When a deputy arrived, O’Brien refused to obey his commands and ran towards the deputy with a knife in his right hand. O’Brien was contained using a Taser and was taken into custody, deputies said.
