Tampa Man Accused in Fatal Stabbing

He attacked a woman during an argument, Tampa police said.

TAMPA – A Tampa man has been arrested in connection with the fatal stabbing of a woman during an argument, the Tampa Police Department said.

The name of the woman, who was in her early 30s, was not immediately available.

Benjamin Andino, 23, of Tampa, was charged with one count each of First Degree Murder, Resisting Arrest Without Violence, and Criminal Mischief.

Police said they were called to an apartment building on Spruce Street about 7:21 p.m. Monday (May 13). When they arrived, they said Andino fled on foot. He was apprehended after a brief foot chase.

Officers said Andino and the woman knew each other and lived in the same apartments, but not together. The two began arguing and, during the argument, Andino attacked the woman with a knife. She later succumbed to her multiple wounds.
