He was charged with the shooting death of a man whose body was found in a car, St. Petersburg police said.

ST. PETERSBURG – A St. Petersburg teen has been accused of murdering one man and trying to murder another, according to the St. Petersburg Police Department.

Lashaud Golden, 19, of St. Petersburg, was charged with one count each of murder in the second degree, attempted felony murder, carjacking with a deadly weapon, and delinquent in possession of a firearam.

Golden was charged with murder in the shooting death of Derrick L. Williams Jr., 29, whose body was found inside a vehicle in the 100 block of 38th St N with a single gunshot wound to the head.

Police said Golden was arrested one day after Mr. Williams was murdered for an unrelated carjacking/shooting. In this incident, Golden shot Gene Carter in the back during an attempt to rob him near 35th Street S and Fourth Avenue.
